CO2 Laser Scar revision

CO2 laser scar revision is an advanced procedure that utilizes a carbon dioxide laser to enhance the appearance of various types of scars, including burn, surgical, and atrophic scars.

During the treatment, the laser generates microscopic holes in the scar tissue, prompting the body to replace the damaged tissue with healthy skin cells. This process helps to reorganize the scar tissue, resulting in a softer and less noticeable scar.

The benefits of this treatment extend to improvements in skin texture and pigmentation, as well as a reduction in associated symptoms like pain or itching. CO2 laser scar revision can be applied to facial skin and other body areas.

Post-treatment, it is common to experience swelling, redness, and oozing of serum for several days. Additionally, crusting, bruising, and scabbing may last one to two weeks, and the treated area may appear darker, lighter, or red for several months following the procedure.

The number of sessions required varies based on the severity of the scar, and treatments are typically scheduled at least four weeks apart to allow for proper healing.
